Summer Skin Care Essentials

July 20, 2018

hello loves! i hope july is treating you well so far. speaking of summer, i wanted to pop on the blog and rant about my current skin care favorites for the hot weather.

PCA Creamy Cleanser: this baby feels like putting on liquid gold. it does an amazing job of clearing out the skin yet also leaving it feeling soft and supple (does not strip the skin or ever make it feel dry). As a gal with dry skin, this is a staple on my beauty counter.

whenever i'm feeling a bit too oily or am having a slight break out, i opt for the Olehenrikson Transforming Walnut Scrub. If you love the feeling of grittiness and a more "abrasive" kind of exfoliant, this baby is for you. The larger granules really cleanse the skin and get down into the pores to reveal soft and glowing skin.

PCA Nutrient Toner: this is a pumpkin wine-based toner that is designed to help refine the appearance of pores, gently exfoliate and provide added nutritional benefit to the skin. vitamins, amino acids, enzymes and other advanced ingredients gently exfoliate to create a healthy glow. this toner also smells incredible and always leaves my skin feeling super soft and even.

my holy grail moisturizer for the summer is Clinique's Moisture Surge 72-hour auto replenishing hydrator. this stuff is so great for the summer because it's super light weight and doesn't leave your skin feeling too heavy or greasy. it does an amazing job of hydrating the skin and is a great base for make up application.

PCA Weightless Protection Broad Spectrum: after working at a spa as a receptionist and alongside multiple estheticians- they always stress how important it is to incorporate sunscreen into your daily skincare regimen. this sunscreen really does go on the skin so effortlessly and is so light weight- and does an amazing job at protecting my skin. i only really use this for my face and have yet to get burnt by any means. with an spf of 45- this product protects the skin from the harmful UV rays that the sun gives off.

i was on the hunt for a primer that works well with dry skin- and after so much research i discovered the Origins Pore Perfecting Cooling Primer. this stuff does a great job at prepping the skin before make up application- leaving it nice and smooth. my skin doesn't flake off when i use foundation after applying this product which i'm so happy about! it is a mousse formula which is so different than most primers and it really does come out of the bottle cold which is a lovely sensation for people with dry skin.

as an extra bonus for the skin, i like to add some serum on before my moisturizer at night. hyaluronic acid is a great ingredient that helps to restore your skins hydration making it soft and supple. i've been trying out the derma e vitamin c serum and i am absolutely in love with it. with the added ingredient of vitamin c, i wake up with my skin feeling even, bright and plump.
